How To Use Anger Management Soundtracks To Increase Anger Control Skills
by Louise Audris

The use of sounds and music to change a mood or induce a feeling is common to all human cultures. Sounds can help to soothe and calm or they can excite and arouse. Some soundtracks can make you feel sad and melancholy. Using anger management soundtracks is a valuable anger management skill that does work for many people.

There are many different type of anger management soundtracks. It is best to try different types to see what works best for you as everyone is individual. Soundtracks that play soothing, relaxing classical or nature music work well played softly in the background. The sounds can help you to slow your thinking and breathing down. Play them in the background at work to reduce stressful feelings in the workplace. Play them before bedtime to induce sleep. These tapes are best not played while you are driving or operating machinery as they help to slow your responses.

Relaxation tapes are also good for reducing anger and anxiety symptoms. Many people with anger management problems also suffer from anxiety. Relaxation tapes teach you breathing skills and how to relax the muscles. Constant anger or tension causes the body muscles to ache. Exercise can help to reduce this and is the foundation of any good anger management program. Some relaxation tapes will talk you through a series of exercises alternating between tensing, and then relaxing, different parts of your body. This is called progressive muscle relaxation.

Another type of anger management soundtrack is guided visualisation or relaxation. These soundtracks describe imaginary scenes that can be used in many different ways for anger control. Some will simply describe a relaxing scene. Others will take you through an imaginary journey. Others will ask you to imagine scenes where you are in control of your anger.

Hypnosis tapes are also used to teach anger management skills. When listening to these tapes you will usually fall into a deeply relaxed state. You are able to move and wake up if you need to. While in this state the mind is more receptive to suggestions. Hypnosis anger soundtracks are more effective is they are played daily for several weeks. Do not play them in the car. You may have to try a few different types to find what works best for you and which voices are most relaxing. These can be very helpful to use while you are learning new anger management techniques.

It is also possible to get a range of anger management soundtracks of books on tape. These are good to listen to in the car to help reinforce the anger management skills that you are practicing. There are a wide range available for adults, children and teens. You may need to try several types to find the best type for you. For best effect they need to be used regularly.

Anger and stress are perhaps the two most defining aspects of our world today.  There are many ways of handling stress and anger. Dr. Wayne Mack, one of the most well-known and trusted Christian counselors of our time, puts his years of experience and Bible knowledge to work for you in this book!  In it, he tells you not just how to handle anger but the root causes of anger.  By doing this, Dr. Mack helps you better understand why your reactions to stress and its accompanying anger are usually the result of "not getting what we think we need."

Getting the Best of Your Anger

Getting the Best of Your Anger

Everyone knows someone whose anger can get out of hand. Maybe that person greets you in the mirror every morning. Or perhaps you know someone who is harming themselves by repressing their pent-up anger. Anger should be felt and expressed, but it can be destructive if not handled properly. Here is a realistic, responsible guide to what anger is and why it gets out of hand. Discussing anger from a biblical perspective, Christian psychologist Dr. Les Carter will help you: identify anger in your life, self-test to determine your level of anger, realize what can make anger an enemy, understand the ways anger is expressed, map out a realistic strategy for handling anger, learn how to express constructive anger, find out what anger is, get it under control and argue fairly. "By understanding anger," Dr. Carter writes, "you can free yourself to live a life of caring and concern."

The Pathways to Peace Anger Management Workbook

The Pathways to Peace Anger Management Workbook

In 1998, William Fleeman founded the highly successful Pathways to Peace to provide violence prevention tools, skills, and programs that inspire individuals and communities to live together in harmony. This book shows that this program can transform anyone with an anger management problem. The author’s experience is that people with anger problems use anger like a drug, to change feelings of powerlessness into feelings of power. This book helps people unlearn this destructive pattern through a cognitive/behavioral approach. Included are 18 anger management sessions with personal stories and questions. The sessions can be completed in 18 to 20 weeks or less. Chapters cover self-assessment, the eight steps to recovery, what to avoid, special methods and skills, life mission and spirituality, goals, forgiveness, and more — all geared to keeping anger under control. This is the official text for the acclaimed self-help anger management program used in schools, prisons, and drug/alcohol treatment centers today.
